In 2024, we came dangerously close to losing Chicago's Greyhound terminal. Just like other cities across the nation, the station had come under ownership of private equity and Greyhound's lease was up with no plan from the City or the bus companies for a resolution. But thanks to our advocacy, on Wednesday, June 17th, Chicago City Council voted to purchase the terminal, establishing a publicly-owned intercity bus terminal!

Just like our airports, municipal ownership of bus terminals has been identified as best practice, with many successful cases in the US like Atlanta and New York City. Now, Chicago will join them in doing the right thing.

Take a moment and use our tool to thank your alderperson for doing the right thing and voting YES!

If your alderperson voted NO, they will instead receive an email urging them to support intercity bus service.
